We met and enjoyed the company of Leah and Abe Gaies through joint activities of Congregations Beth El and Berith Sholom in Troy. We then were fortunate to have renewed our acquaintance with Leah, a great conversationalist and an astute observer of the contemporary scene, during our visits to the Beverwyck Senior Community in Slingerlands. We share in Leah's loss to her family and to the larger community to which she was such an active contributor for so many years. As noted in the obituary, Leah did, indeed, serve as a model of living.

To all the Gaies children, I am so sorry to learn of your moms passing. I have such wonderful memories of both of your parents since my grandparents lived next door (Evers). I still remember being in my grandparents kitchen and hearing someone saying hello - it was your mom from your house. She always knew when we were around and never failed to say hello. She was a wonderful woman always with a smile and kind word for all. She will be missed but always remembered with love.
My condolences to you all.

Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.
