She attended St. Paul the Apostle School in Troy, NY and was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School, also in Troy. Mina received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Albany in 1975 and a Masters Degree in reading education from the University of Albany in 1982.Mina taught in elementary grade schools for forty years. Her passion and calling, which she realized early in life, was teaching children. She began her teaching career at St. Mary's School in Waterford, NY.
