Sandra A. Canfield Obituary
Troy - Sandra A. Canfield, 76, of 17 State St., Troy, NY, died Monday, 12/24/2018, at Samaritan Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Edmund "Jake" and M. Ann Canfield and sister of Chris Canfield Williamson Ladd of Cedar City, Utah. Sandie was a life long resident of Troy, NY and graduated from Catholic Central High School. She was employed by various departments by New York State. Sandie was a kind, gentle and loving person and especially loved and was loved by her devoted niece, my daughter, Paula Williamson Tanner. Paula was especially kind, loving and generous to Sandie. Sandie also loved and was loved by her great niece, my granddaughter, Brooklyn Tanner and great nephew, my grandson, Niko Tanner, all of Las Vegas, NV.I live in Utah and received the news while in Florida. Since I moved from NY in 1998, I remembered Riverview Funeral Home at 218 2nd Avenue, which had handled our parents funerals. I made a phone call to Roy Bordeau and he handled all the arrangements, precisely with dignity and respect and utmost professionalism. His demeanor helped to ease my grief and I am very grateful.I want to especially thank our Aunt MaryAnn Daly and my friend Carolyn Sutliff for visiting Sandie during her last few hours and reporting to me she was receiving excellent care with dignity and respect and being made as comfortable as possible.Carolyn was given Sandie's remains, by Roy Bordeau, flawlessly and with utmost dignity and respect and Carolyn flew them back to AZ with her yesterday. Carolyn reported to me that the TSA staff at Albany, NY airport handled the remains with such respect and brought a special padded tray with Rest In Peace to x-ray the contents. I will be receiving the remains and there will be a private service in Cedar City, Utah. Our Lord has saved a special spot for Sandie, for many years, and I know she will be waiting for her family with her favorite flowers, violets.Until we meet again, dear sister, Rest In Peace with all the dignity, love and respect you so deserve. Paula, Brooklyn, Niko and I will see you again, until that time we all love and miss you. I know our God has saved a special spot for our special Sandie. The family of Sandra A.
