Nancy M. Abel

TROY-Nancy M. Abel, 72, of Federal St. died peacefully Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence. Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Bessie Engel Abel. Nancy resided in Lansingburgh for most of her life. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Highgate Manor for over 20 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she had been employed at the former Hart and Son Laundry. Nancy’s main enjoyment was being with family and friends. She was the loving mother of Wayne R. Yando, Sr. and the sister of Frank Abel and the late Otto, Perry, Clarence, John and Kenneth Abel and Edith Honsinger. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wayne, Allen and Kim as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery.
