Dan was a man who could just look at your face an know what was on your mind. If I was avoiding conversation he would look at me and say with a very deep raspy voice.."CECE".. I knew it was time to talk.
If I EVER needed anything he was there. Cadence looked and still looks up to him. He is hero and is the best dad anyone could ever ask for. I miss him.
Your daughter in law,
Celeste Lawrence

I worked beside Dan at the 162nd FW from 1998 to 2005. You can often tell a lot about a man by his hand-shake. His big grip and matching grin are unforgettable personality traits. Dan, a true patriot, will be sadly missed by many. My sincere condolences to the Lawrence family.

I worked with Dan from 1981 until I retired in 2004. Consider him a good friend & a pleasure to work with. A lot of good memories came to mind when I heard he was so sick. Too bad we didn't have time to sit down one more time & share some of those memories.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Daniel Keith Lawrence our “Brother-in-Arms”, a fellow Legionnaire and a VFW comrade. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dan. And to Dan it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War and Operations Desert Storm, Kosovo, Iraqi an Enduring Freedom while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Dan, we also acknowledge and appreciate your dedicated service as a Leginnaire, a VFW comrade, a community volunteer and as a youth sports coach. You served with honor and distinction; we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dans's family and loved ones.
