We owe our family existence to Dr. Robert Hirsch. He was assigned to my case at TMC in February 1989. I was a 32 year-old husband and father of two school-aged children when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was a "dead-man walking" when we first spoke. He seemed a little grouchy initially and I came to understand later that he simply was so grieved by my condition and it´s implications to my young family that he was struggling with his emotions. His expertise and care were Heaven-directed.
May Adonai continue to bless and keep Robert and all of his special family. He was truly one of a kind.

My wonderful uncle, beyond his innumerable accomplishments has been an influence and loving fixture in my life since I was 7.
Along with my Aunt Harriet he's half of one of the most loving, dedicated couples I have ever known. May you rest in peace uncle Bob.

I read the obituary in The Jewish Post and extend my deepest sympathy. A memory from the Shanhouse Pre-school at the Jewish Community Center while it was still on Plumber came to my thoughts. My daughter Fran and David were classmates. Dr Hirsch always said, "Fran, Fran - a legend in her own time" which Fran always remembered. Sadly, Fran died Feb 19 of this year.

My heart goes out to you Harriet and all your family . You so generously took me under your wings as a 1st year Social Worker at Roberts and set up tennis matches between your husband and my dad when he visited from NY. He was a very kind man . I hope you will find peace and comfort somehow in time to come.

We extend our deepest condolences to the entire Hirsch family at the passing of their beloved patriarch. Our family owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Hirsch that cannot be measured. A loving God and Robert ' s expertise combined, 28 years ago, to produce the medical miracle that made it possible for me to remember him today. God love and keep the Hirsch family in His care.

I truly enjoyed working with Dr. Hirsch on disability claims at DDSA. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and able to make complete assessments w/o delays. I was taken aback when I found out one day that he no longer was working at DDSA. I miss him as I liked seeing him and talking with him. Peace and love to all of his family. Rest in joyful peace, Dr. Hirsch.

Dr Hirsch was my father's physician in the early 60's. One afternoon in junior high school I came home from school with a severe fever. Dr Hirsch made a house call, diagnosed me and helped save my life. He was a good doctor and a fine man.

I am so sorry for the loss of Bob to our community. He was a fine man, a fine doctor, and a super tennis player. He was always cheerful and glad to lend a hand with anything that needed to be done.

I've know Dr. Hirsch for over 16 years having "hired" Bob back in 2000 at the Southern AZ DDSA. I retired from the DDS in 2003, and departed with the knowledge of Bob's expert work on the medical issues in Social Security disability claims. I remember Dr. Hirsch for his "patient" focused approach which I valued and yet he was conscious of the Administration's cost factors. A truly skilled professional when I retired; I'm confident Bob's work continued over the ensuing 14 years with the same humility and proficiency I knew.
"Bob" will be missed!
