BLEAKNEY, Arlene Adair age 58, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 with her husband and children by her side. Born on March 3, 1960 in Elwood City, PA, she grew up in Prescott, AZ. Arlene graduated from Prescott High School in 1978, where she was well-known and celebrated for her many athletic achievements. Arlene moved to Tucson in 1983, where she married and raised her family. After years of illness, Arlene received a double lung transplant at the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital on January 31, 2016. Arlene was adored by her transplant team and was considered the poster child of the program- working hard and never giving up. The transplant blessed Arlene with nearly two and a half more years of life, travel, and love. Anyone who knew Arlene would say that she had the biggest, most loving heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and the incredible ability to make anyone feel like family. She will be missed by many and never forgotten. Arlene is survived by her husband, Steve; children, Shae and Kyle and her extensive and loving family. A Celebration of life will be held at the Tucson Country Club, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Arlene's name to a local Humane Society or the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital.
