Bill was my wrestling coach from 7th through 9th grade. I wish it could have been longer. I still remember my first tournament and Bill giving me a whack on the rear as I went out to wrestle a guy who had beaten me earlier. He said the earlier loss was a fluke.
I was thinking "What's a fluke?" as I walked out on the mat. Wonderful coach and an even better human being.
Thanks Bill,
Pat

Mrs. Manning,

I was so sad to hear of Bill's passing. As a member of the WHS Class of 1981, we were always honored to have had Dr. Manning "graduate" with us as he began his retirement. I returned to WHS as a teacher and would love when Bill returned to the school for visits. He always greeted me with a big smile and a huge hug. He made everyone feel so special.

He will be missed!

Dear Manning Family,

It has been a long long time since I last saw Bill. However, he was a friend from high school and I had the prevelege of being on the same wrestling team as one of our state champions.
I remember him well.

To The Manning Family,
Dr. Manning was a wonderful mentor and student advocate at Wayzata High School. I will always remember him because he took the time to ask me into his office before graduation to get a correct understanding on how to pronounce my last name - it really made me feel that he cared about my feelings. Dr. Manning - I’ll always remember my high school years as some of the best years of my life because of your guidance. Sue Szulczewski – Class of 1977
