Thomas Joseph McConnell

Thomas Joseph (TJ) McConnell 2/1/1978 - 9/2/2010 Was taken from us much too soon. Thomas Joseph was born in Phoenix, Arizona and soon after his father, Tom McConnell, and mother, Edna McConnell, moved to Blakley, PA where his father's family lived and where TJ went to grade school and Junior High School. At age 14, TJ moved to Tucson to live with his Aunt and Uncle, where he went on to graduate from Palo Verde High School in 1997. He had many friends in this school, TJ was well liked. He enjoyed hiking, outdoor activities and working as a Wild Land Firefighter. He was studying to become a Smoke Jumper, "his dream job". Storms, Weather and the Earth itself were all part of TJ. TJ had a big heart for animals of all kinds but his dog "Pete" was at his side the most. If he saw a stray dog he would do his best to get it food or a home if at all possible. TJ was survived by a large family and many friends. He will be loved forever and will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial Services will be at a later date. On September second-late in the day TJ heard…"Distant Voices" Voices from the distant past carried through the winds of time…I can hear them now calling me to a place of silence, a place of listening, their stories untold, their lives forgotten, buried in the sands of time. I can feel their presence within me, the ones with whom I have longed to connect to, they are the threads of many lifetimes that hold the space for us to be.
