Ella Fountain Stone Mears died peacefully on September 13, 2010. Ella was born on December 22, 1928 in Oxford, Mississippi to James Bates Stone, Jr. and Martha Pillow Greene Stone. She grew up in Oxford and attended Ole Miss University. She married Paul Allen Mears on September 4, 1949. The family moved to Tucson in 1962. Ella was active in her Church's Prayer chain and Mission programs as well as the DAR and UDC organizations. She is survived by her husband of 61 years; sons, Paul, Jr. (Penny) and Phillip (Becky); daughter, Mary Evelyn McEnaney (Rick) and seven grandchildren. Ella will be laid to rest at Tupelo Memorial Park Cemetery in Tupelo, Mississippi. A Memorial Service will be held at 22nd Street Baptist Church on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made in her memory to Caring Ministries, Inc., 820 W. Calle Sur, Tucson, AZ 85705. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
