Mary Lou (Carroll) Butt went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2012 at 6:43 p.m. Mary Lou was born November 16, 1934 in Manhattan, Kansas to Fredrick and Luella (Nelson) Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Fredrick and sister, Charlene and is survived by sister, Charlotte; husband, Robert Samuel Butt; daughters, Carroll Ann Butt and Deborah Elizabeth Butt and sons, Robert Samuel Butt, Jr. and Richard Fredrick Standish and granddaughters, Jessica Carroll Butt, Marisa Louise Butt, Autumn Amber Pepper and Angelese Antoinette Pepper. Mary Lou graduated from Topeka High School, Topeka, Kansas. She married Robert January 31, 1954 in Topeka and lived in Portsmouth, New Hampshire from 1957 to 1962, San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1962 to 1966, Minot, North Dakota from 1966 to 1968, Topeka, Kansas in 1968, Chalfont St. Peter and Carpenter's Park, England from 1968 to 1972 and Tucson, Arizona from 1972 to 2012. She attended Pima Community College and was Student Body President. She was an artist who taught ceramics, and was President of the Tucson Arthritic Support League and a greeter at the East Speedway Calvary Chapel. Mary Lou worked for Avon and Tucson Newspapers, Inc., and was a Daughter of the American Revolution, member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendents, member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Red Hatters. Memorial Services will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Calvary Chapel, 8711 E. Speedway, Tucson. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Mary Lou's name to the University of Arizona Cancer Center or the Tucson Arthritis Support League. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.
