Evelyn was born in Sumrall, Miss. to Maude and Allen Lott on January 8, 1924. She was the middle child of seven children. She grew up on a farm with her siblings during the depression. After high school, she worked in Jackson, Miss. as a dental assistant and met her future husband who was a practicing surgeon after serving in the United States Navy during WWII. She and Thomas Madison Dunn were married for 54 years and lived in St. Petersburg, Fla. where they resided until moving to Tuscaloosa in 2004.
Evelyn was a homemaker and loved sewing, painting, cooking and entertaining friends in their home. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and those close to her called her Mimi.
More important than what she accomplished was who she was and how she lived life. She was always loving, always kind and always patient and never complained. You could not help but love her. Memories of her will be reflected, not only in her paintings, but in her life as a godly wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will miss her dearly.
