Jewell Walters Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Flossie Robertson Walters; and her sisters, Betty Walters and Bernice Watson.
Survivors include her brother, Buddy Walters; her sister, Patricia Walters; nephews, Norris Watson, Larry Walters, and Harold Walters; niece, Shanda Jones; numerous cousins, and a host of friends.
Jewell was an employee of the Radiology Clinic for more than 57 years but she was more than just an employee of the Radiology Clinic, she "was" the Radiology Clinic to all who visited. Her beautiful smile greeted many a patient throughout the 57 years she worked here. Jewell formed many friendships with patients that lasted throughout the years. Numerous patients always asked for her or about her when they came for their tests.
Maya Angelou said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Jewell knew this and lived her life making people feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated. She was greatly loved by so many, including all of the former and present employees of the Radiology Clinic. We will miss her dearly.
Jewell was a member of Northport Baptist Church where her church family has been vigilant in meeting her every need over the course of her extended illness.
Pallbearers will be Larry Walters, Harold Walters, Norris Watson, Willie Cleveland and Bobby Ledbetter.
Honorary pallbearers are physicians and staff of the Radiology Clinic and special friends Dot Vice, Barbara Cowart, Barbara Hall, Marilyn Fox and Beverly Walker.
The family request memorials be sent to the Lymphoma And Leukemia Society, 100 Chase Park South, Suite 220, Birmingham, AL 35244.

I lived on hwy 171 and remember her riding down the road each morning I caught the school bus. She was so pretty and alw a ys waved. She was the same pretty vibrant person as she greeted me the Radiology Clinic.

If each of us could display the compassion and love Jewell had for others, this world would be a much better place. I have never met a more genuine,loving, woman who never met a stranger. She would always remember and speak to you and your family when she saw you. You always knew you would be well taken care of when Jewell was working. The Radiology Clinic had a wonderful gift by having Jewell there. Her dedication was contagious and appeared effortless.
My deepest sympathy to her family and The Radiology Clinic. She will truly be missed by all.
