Age 70 Of Arden Hills, MN Bill, born June 21, 1943, died peacefully on Aug 30, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was loved and will be missed by his wife Mary, children Nick, Nelle and Emily, daughter-in-law Emily, son-in-law Pete, grandchildren Ella, Annie, Erik and Alex, and his many close friends. Bill was a St Paul guy through-and-through. He dedicated the lion's share of his professional endeavors to healthcare administration at The International Diabetes Center of Park Nicollet Health Services and Foresight Strategy Associates before proudly ending his career at the University of Minnesota. He also served on the boards of directors for Gillette Children's Hospital and Mounds Park Academy. His idea of a perfect evening was to be surrounded by good friends, good food, good stories and good laughs; and he shared countless such nights with family and friends. Quick of wit, generous of spirit, traveler of the world and hater of pickles, Bill was one-of-a-kind. Join us for a fond recollection of Bill's life at the Macalester College Weyerhaeuser Chapel on Grand Ave in St Paul on Sunday, Sept 15th from 1 to 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Gillette Children's Hospital are preferred.

My sincere sympathy to the Henry family. Bill and I worked together for many years and I will miss our discussions of food, travel and healthcare. He was always quick witted and had such a passion for life. I will think of him every time I have Izzy's ice cream. He is deeply missed.

Bill,
You raised a great son and two daughters who love you dearly. That alone is a life worth living.

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the Henry family.
Bill was a very solid and kind person who understood the meaning of loyalty. I knew him as a fraternity brother at the U of M.
He was respected and appreciated for his thoughtfulness, friendship and great sense of humor. He always was quick to figure out what was going on in the scheme of things.
After college, we'd get together at least once a year for lunch, with always a great visit. I'm glad to have known him and he truly will be missed.
In sympathy,
John Helland

Bill, The world lost a wonderful person the day you died. I will always cherish the discussions we had about healthcare as it existed in the 1990's and your vision of how it should work. Since many aspects of the ACA are consistent with your vision, I am sad that you won't be here to see it all come together. Thank you for your guidance and support during some very challenging times at Gillette Children's when you were chair of the board. Gillette is better because of your dedication and service and I learned alot and laughed alot during those countless conversations. Thank you, Margaret Perryman, CEO, Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare

As a member and chairman of the City of Arden Hills Parks Trails and Recreation Committee, Bill was instrumental in working with the City Council on many park initiatives, including naming a trail in the City after Elmer L. Andersen. He was coauthor of the elegant resolution to honor Elmer Andersen. It was a pleasure working with him and he will be missed!

Dear Bill - You are the reason I am living in Minnesota. Your kind words to me as I started teaching from Oregon kept me on this path back. My favorite time with you was talking politics - when we didn't agree and could each have a view that we were able to respect. I miss you - you care and kindness. Thank you for your friendship. Love, Betsy
