Just came upon John's obituary. He made a difference in my life. I had been laid off from Donovan Construction with a wife and two young children to support. I just had my boys baptized by Father Reiser of St Mary's of the Lake and said that I was out of work. I mentioned that I had worked for Donovan Construction and the next day I got a call from John telling me to report to work. It meant a lot to me and I was never unemployed after that. This was in 1963 .

Dear Peter and family
Your dad's death must leave a huge void in your lives. His life touched so many people, he left a great legacy of generosity and service and I am glad our parents were such life long friends. I wish I could be there to honor him as you have been there for my parents in their deaths. Sending love and prayers also to Mrs Donovan and the whole family.. Much Love,Liz Krebsbach Sumner

Aunt Ellie and Family,
I was surprised to hear about Uncle John's Passing. May the Lord be with you and your family in your time of grief. Now Uncle John is no longer in pain and is in heaven with my Dad and all of the other family members that have gone before us. I remember the family gatherings and the Love that we always shared together. I remember the smells of the food coming from the kitchen, playing with the dollhouse that Grandpa Mayne built for Martha and for us to share when we visited your family home. Uncle John was a very faithful and giving man and I will always remember him that way. May the Lord be with all of you in this time of your sorrow.
