Hurley - Catherine C. (Kay) (nee Donohue), age 95, of St. Paul on Jan. 8th, 2002. Preceded in death by her husband the Hon. Marshall F. Hurley; parents, John J. & Mary A. Donohue; and brother John T. Donohue. Survived by: sons, Marshall (Carolyn) and John (Sandra); grandchildren Kathleen, Sara, and Brian. Kay's warmth radiated well beyond her immediate famiy and she will be greatly missed by her many friends and cousins including Maile & Kathy Fahrion and all of the many Donohue cousins. Her life spanned nearly a century of rapid development, challenges, and constant change. All of which she maneuvered through with understated ease. The sudden death of Marshall in 1960 weighed heavily on her throughout her remaining 41 years, but, as with everything, she followed her strength and belief in God. Steadfastly independent, she returned to her chosen profession of elementary education and taught well past retirement age. 'Grandma Kay' as she was called by her grandchildren and many other young people, was a fiery spirit who inspired them to follow their dreams and passions. She will not be forgotten. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday, January 14th at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY Catholic Church, 1550 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Visitation at the church 1 hr. prior to Mass. Private Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to donor's choice. Arr. O'HALLORAN & MURPHY, 651-698-0796.
