Robert Joseph ("Bob") FENLON Obituary
Age 91 of St. Paul, MN Passed away October 8, 2016. Today, Bob's Irish eyes adoringly smile on the face of God. Bob was born to Gerald and Catherine Fenlon. He was raised in St. Paul with his brother and three sisters and graduated from Cretin High School. Following his Army service, Bob met and married "Pat", Mary Patricia Kennedy, while attending the University of Cincinnati. While there he earned his law degree along with playing football for the Bearcats including three bowl games. Following graduation, Bob remained at the University as a line coach for his friend and coaching legend, Sid Gilman. Bob and Pat moved to St. Paul where he began his 50-year law practice with his esteemed colleagues at Felhaber, Larson, Fenlon & Vogt. Preceded in death by: his loving wife, Pat Fenlon; grandson, Shawn Garlinghouse; sister, Kitty Drinane; brother, Gerald Fenlon; and his parents, Gerald and Catherine Fenlon. Survived by his devoted children: Ann (Tom) Garlinghouse, Steve (Renee) Fenlon, Sheila (Bob) Bergren, Paul Fenlon, Shannon (Kevin) Mather, Carrie (Dave) Rasmussen, 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by: his sisters Mary Bednorz and Eileen Cullen; brother-in-law, Jerry Kennedy; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was devoted to his faith and passionate about the game of golf. In the 56 years as a member of Town & Country Club, Bob celebrated three hole-in-ones. He cherished his many friends at the club especially "The Boys" and the Thursday night roundtable. Bob's greatest accomplishment was his love and devotion to his wife and family. Our heartfelt gratitude for all those who cared for Bob including: Dr. Kim Olson, the staff of Minneapolis VA Health Care System, Optage Hospice, Dr. Jim Giefer,; his personal caregivers, Bob McNamara, Lifesprk and most especially his friends and caregivers at Lake Minnetonka Shores and Carondelet Village. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 9:30 - 10:30AM at Nativity of Our Lord, 1900 Wellesley, St Paul, MN 55105. Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity will follow at 10:30AM.
