Obituary Condolences

Addison, Douglass D. Sr. Age 63, of Coon Rapids Passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday February 28, 2008. Preceded in death by father, Royley Addison; step-father, Lute Mona; and niece, Kylie Riddle. Doug proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Randolph, attended the University of Minnesota where he met Lynne, whom he married in 1965. Doug served as a patrol officer with the Willmar Police Dept. from 1966-1973 and was the Supervisor of Central Counting at Metro Transit until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement Doug authored 2 books, worked on his model RR and volunteered with the Great Northern Historical Society. Doug was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Lynne (nee Larson); children, Marcia (Brad) Honold, and Doug Jr. (Vanessa Merchant); grandchildren, Abby, Isaac, Charmaine, Sarah, and Marcus Honold; mother, Millie Mona; mother-in-law, Vivian Larson; sisters, Gayette Riddle, Kim (Loren) Smith, Judy (George) Schell; brothers, Dell (Julie), Bradley, Bruce, Dale (Chris), Keith, Dave (Linda) Mona; sister-in-law, Corinne (Paul) Christensen; brother-in-law, Dean (Diane) Larson; aunts, Rozella Ernesti, Dode Richardson, and Muriel Clauson; uncle, Kenneth Ernesti; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Jeanne Nelson, Dr. James Guerrero, close friends, Ron Davis, Lee Thompson, and John Schoenhoff who provided care and support for Doug through his extended illness. Memorials may be directed to BSF International, New Hope Church, or to donor's choice. Funeral service Tuesday, March 4, 11:30AM at the NEW HOPE CHURCH, 4225 Gettysburg Ave. N., New Hope.
