Gary Don Looney

Memorial services for Gary Don Looney, age 35, of Jacksonville, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home in Tyler with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating.

Mr. Looney was born on July 3, 1979, in Fort Worth to Charles D. and Rosemary Looney and passed away on Jan. 28, 2015, in Tyler. He was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for eight years. He graduated from Longview High School in 1997 and earned a B.A. degree from The University of Texas at Tyler in May 2004. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview and was an endowed member of the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge No. 1396.

Survivors include his parents, Charles and Rosemary Looney, of Longview; sisters, Jacie Dobbs and Lauren Looney, of Longview; grandmother, Edythe McElroy, of Tyler; uncle, John L. Looney Sr. and wife Katie, of Mineola; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Jane Looney and Walter McElroy.
