Sandra Carol Ross

OVERTON - Services for Sandra Carol Ross, 53, Austin, formerly of Overton, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services, Austin, with the Rev. C.W. Hood officiating.

Ms. Ross died Nov. 3, 2006, in an Austin hospital.

She was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Overton. She graduated in 1970 from Arp High School, where she was named Ms. Arp High, president of FHA, FFA Sweetheart and Outstanding Teenager of America. She received her bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1974 and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She was a computer analyst for Xerox Co., and later for Tandem and Dell. She most recently attended LeTourneau University and planned to become a teacher. She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Ross Sr.; brothers, Lonnie Ross Jr. and Roger Ross; and nephews, Bruce Wade, Jerry Joe and Lorenzo Ross.

Survivors include son, Brandon Chism, Austin; daughter, Shannon Chism, Austin; mother, Cedalia Ross, Tyler; brothers, Otha B. Ross, Overton, Calvin Ross and Dr. Leonard Ross, both of Sunnyvale, Calif., Dr. Grady Ross, San Jose, Calif., and Samuel Ross, Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Mary Burner, Los Altos, Calif., Darlene Gee, Tyler, Gwendolyn Nash and Rachel Starks, both of Denver, Colo., Myra Upson, Madera, Calif., and Patricia Mallett, San Jose, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
