Chief Richard Harry Campbell, Sr. Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Chief Richard Harry Campbell, Sr., entered into peace on Sunday February 3, 2013 with his loved ones by his side, in Ukiah, CA. He was 66 years old. Richard was born July 12, 1946 in Riverside, Ca. to Walter Campbell and Margaret Beeson Campbell of the Pomo and Hopi Nations. He graduated from Ganado Mission High School, in Arizona, Class of 1964. Richard served in the United States Navy as a Radioman on the USS Annapolis near Guam during the Vietnam War. Richard resided on the Coyote Valley Indian Reservation in Redwood Valley, Ca. He worked as the Tribe's EPA Director. He also very proudly served as the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians elected Chief. Richard enjoyed working and looking out for the best interest of the Tribe. Richard loved spending time with his family. You could count on him to be at his family's birthday parties, sporting events and any family get together. He will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by his sons, Wayne Campbell, Richard Campbell, Jr. and wife Sonja of Ukiah Ca. Grandchildren, Oceana, Ocean, Kaileah, Alycia and Tehya. Brother Melvin Campbell and wife Julie of Riverside, Ca. Sisters, Gloria Alarcon of Perris, Ca., Linda Lucero and husband Jerry of Kingman, Az., Joy Jones and husband John of San Luis Obispo, Ca. Nieces and nephews, Saasha & Travis Renville, Susan & Dominic Porte, April & Tom Wise, Billy & Amy Smith, Margaret & Victor Olea, Lael Ashley, Stephen Ashley, Ralph Ashley, Karla Nasewytewa, Shawn Johnson, Jennifer Jones and John Jones, Jr. Great nieces and nephews, Ralph Jr., Candace, Amanda, Victoria, Izzie, Michael, Leanne, Veva, Juanita, Regis, Jr., Rosie, Ashley, Roy, Jezzel, Rachel, Alyssa, Julia, River, Skyla, Sammy, Candice, Brittany, Steven, Wanata, Wyatt, Kaylynn, Natasha, Kobi, Nycole, Kamden, Dakota, Sydney, Ella, in addition to 21 Great-Great nieces and nephews. His wife, Ruth, whom he adored and loved like no other, precedes Richard in death, along with his niece Linda Ashley-Garduno and nephew Regis Ashley. Services for Richard will be held on February 12, 2013 at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Ca. at 1:45 pm. Under the care and direction of Eversole Mortuary.
