Not sure what to say?

Jean was a good person and he fought hard for many things including the poultry industry in his life. In his battles he always had time to share a story and a few laughs. He contributed to our professor groups and he will be missed although we know he is in peace now.

Jean had an incredible sense of humor and was successful in lightening up conversations with those around him.
I learned a great deal about practical poultry nutrition and ingredient characteristics from Jean over 20 years of periodic visits with him. He has and will be sadly missed by our industry.

Jean was a very bright nutritionist and we enjoyed working with him. If he felt something was right, he was passionate about trying it. He will be missed by family and friends.

I was fortunate to be a co-worker with Jean for many years; I was also privileged to partake of the many concoctions he would cook and share with us. ince we knew he formulated the feed for his cats, we always teased him a bit about the ingredients. What he served was always very good, but he didn't give away his recipes or secret ingredients to us.

Jean and I made a few car trips together for business meetings in Little Rock and one in particular was the best and worst of times. Jean was driving my car, and we left Little Rock knowing we were heading into a severe thunderstorm. The closer we got to Fort Smith, the wind and lightening really began to worsen, and with his very dry wit, Jean told me to stay calm, that he was driving in the lane he was supposed to be in, but that we were swerving so badly because of the wind. It only got worse. The lightening was so powerful that in the black of night after the flash of lightening, the sky was actually brown where the bright bolt had been. Again Jean tried to soothe my nerves by explaining about the lightening and that as long as we could hear thunder we were ok. It was not long after that statement that it got so very very quiet that Jean, himself, decided we should pull in at a service stop where a lot of truckers we already hiding, and we waited there with many others as the tornado passed over. Jean was always the best driver in my book after this.

I will miss Jean as he was a wonderfully kind man, a wee bit stand-offish until he felt comfortable with you, and then you were just one of his friends for whom he would do whatever he could. He loved his family, especially his nieces, and when he would come to the office, he was always excited to tell us his plans for their next visit.

My prayers and sympathy are with you during this time of loss.

I'm very sorry to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague Jean Allard. I was working at O.K. when Jean came on board so we've known each other for a long time. All of us here will miss him.

Jean was one of the smartest people I've ever known and was a very accomplished nutritionist and was well known in our industry. He and I had a mutual interest in politics as well as very similar views on government. We had many pleasant conversations along those lines. Of course he also loved to talk about his Red Sox and Patriots.

Jean fought bravely against his illness and I'm certain he is now at peace. I'm happy that he chose to return home for his final days. My best wishes for the family during this most difficult time.
