Davis R. Clark

WOODSTOCK -- Davis R. Clark, 93 of Woodstock died May 24, 2009, at the Lafayette Center-Genesis Eldercare, Franconia, after a long illness.

He was born in North Woodstock on May 6, 1916, to Davis O. and Callie (Smith) Clark.

He grew up and attended schools in North Woodstock.

Mr. Clark enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 27, 1942, and served until Oct. 31, 1945. He served on the European/African front and earned an EAMET campaign medal with three bronze service stars.

He worked various jobs during his lifetime including Wilbur Gordon Oil, North Woodstock, Franconia Paper Corporation, Lincoln, and the Beebe River-Rockwell International, Campton.

He was a member of Parker Lodge 97 F&AM, and the Shriners.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Virginia (Baston) Clark.

Family includes his wife, Christine "Tina" (Small) Avery, several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours.

A graveside funeral is Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Woodstock Cemetery, Route 3, with the Rev. Dean Roth officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Parker Masonic Lodge 97 F&AM, North Woodstock, or the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
