Louis A. Demers

TOPEKA, Kan. - Louis Andre Demers, 75, of Topeka, died Jan. 11, 2013, at Colmery O'Neil Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born in Manchester, N.H., on Jan. 1, 1938, he was the son of Donat A. and Simonne (Cote) Demers.

During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army with the military police.

Mr. Demers earned a bachelor of arts degree from Washburn University in 1971.

Until his retirement, he was a licensed mental health technician with Menninger Clinic for many years.

He was very devoted to his Roman Catholic faith.

He was a member of the American Legion Post no.1 and the Disabled American Veterans Post no. 3, Topeka.

Family members include a brother, Edmond (Cecile) Demers of Hernando, FL; four sisters, Lucille Laflamme and her husband, Jean, Doris Kelly and her husband, Thomas, all of Manchester, Elaine Lefebvre and her husband, Bill, of Raymond, and Suzanne Solloway and her husband, Bruce, of St. Augustine, FL; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.


SERVICES: A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10AM in Sacred Heart Church.
