Robert Mackintosh Jr.

WILTON - Robert "Bob" Mackintosh Jr., 55, of Wilton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. He was born in Nashua on Oct. 6, 1958, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Mary (O'Donnell) Mackintosh.

Bob was a graduate of Wilton-Lyndeborough High School Class of 1976, a proud member of Warrior Nation, where he met Martha, his wife of "49 years" (as claimed by Bob). He worked for many years as a journalist, working as a reporter and editor for such noted publications as the Daily News of Newburyport, the Milford Cabinet, Neighborhood Publications, a startup magazine of Sully's that failed miserably, and the Peterborough Transcript.

He left a career in journalism behind not only to spend more time with his family, but to begin a new career working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries. This change in occupation led to him becoming a certified brain injury specialist.

Bob was also an unofficial ambassador for Switchback Ale, promoting the brand throughout the land to anyone who would listen!

He was a straight shooter who loved to laugh, and he will be remembered for his good nature, his generosity and his inability to recognize that every party must eventually end.

Nothing was more important to him than his family, although the Boston Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots were never far behind. He spent his Sundays watching football at Bout's.

Bob was active in Wilton and the surrounding region and enjoyed contributing to Wilton Old Home Days and Souhegan Valley Resources. He also was an avid fan/mentor of his daughter Hannah's softball career.

Bob was a card-carrying member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Post 10 American Legion, aka, the Wilton Hilton.

Family members include his wife, Martha (Hutchinson) Mackintosh of Wilton; his daughter, Hannah Lane Mackintosh of Manchester; his mother, Mary Mackintosh of Lyndeborough; his sisters, Susan Monet and her husband, Steven, of Brighton, Mich.; Gail McNulty and her husband, Jim, of Bushnell, Fla.; his brother-in-law, Keith "The Beard" Broadley and his wife, Debbie (Hutchinson) Broadley, of Milford. His nieces and nephews include: Dylan and Lucas Broadley, Katie Monet Scheich and Dan Monet, and Keith and Dana McNulty; and his friend and roommate, Johnny John John. Bob was predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Ryann..
