William A. Luckey

LANCASTER - William A. Luckey, 78, died Saturday evening March 23, 2013, after a long illness.

Mr. Luckey was born in LaBelle, Fla., on July 12, 1934, and was a graduate of La Belle High School. For a time he was employed with NASA in a satellite tracking station. He has operated several businesses including roofing, lawn care, and appliance repair and most recently worked at the Lancaster Transfer Station. When he moved to Lancaster in 1989 he met his wife Nancy, a teacher, while doing volunteer work for a special education class at Lancaster Elementary School.

Family members include his wife Nancy (White) Luckey of Lancaster; three children, Kim Maddox of La Belle, Fla.; Tanya Pidd of Michigan, William Carlton Luckey of Michigan; three stepchildren, Dan Hancock of Maine, Kristin Amarino of Bluffton, S.C., Sarah Singer of Northumberland; six grandchildren; and one brother, R. Floyd Luckey Jr. of Lancaster.


services: There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Tuesday morning, April 2 at 11 a.m. at the White Mountain Christian Church, Littleton. Pastor James Anan will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Summer Street Cemetery.
