MANCHESTER -- Rene E. Beaudin, 86, died Sept. 3, 2008, at home.
He was born in Manchester on July 24, 1922, the son of Louis and Alice (Doyon) Beaudin.
Mr. Beaudin attended local schools. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
He worked for the United States Postal Service and belonged to postal workers union, Local 230.
Mr. Beaudin was former president of the Living Will Society. He was an active member of DE104 Destroyer Escort Association, and belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 408, William Jutras Post 43, and AARP.
He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially fishing. For many years Mr. Beaudin looked forward to autumn to make special apple cider in his own cider mill.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include three sons, Roger Beaudin, and his wife, Janice, of Manchester, Robert Beaudin, and his wife, Heidi, of Surry, Maurice Beaudin, and his wife, Patricia, of River Falls, Wis.; five grandchildren, Kristine, Cheryl, Scott, Rick, John; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Armand Beaudin of Goffstown; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelly Street, Manchester.
Burial will be in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army, 121 Cedar St., Manchester 03101.

Rene was a very special, dear man, and will be missed by all the DE104 shipmates and their families. My father, Jim Miller, thought the world of Rene and Irene, as did I and my family. May God give you comfort during this time of loss.
