Lubelczyk Family,
I was deeply saddened to lean of wally's passing. I fondly recall our days working at camp Mi-Te-Na. He was true gentleman, always considerate of others, great sense of humor and fun to be with.
My condolences to all surviving members of the family. The world needs more like him and we all will miss him and that wonderful smile.

Mr. Lubelczyk was a wonderful teacher who was passionate about what he taught. But he was also just a really nice guy. He was always so professional, pleasant and upbeat. He was a great dresser with a smile that would light up the classroom when he entered. He was a true gentleman. I feel very fortunate to have had him as my teacher.

Mr. Lubelczyk was the type of teacher that had high expectations for all of his students, an enthusiasm for his discipline, and a great sense of humor. He was the type of teacher you didn't want to disappoint. I became a social studies teacher myself and actually used my law class notes that I had saved from his class...I'll never forget our good friends, Abner & Bruce! Thank you Mr. Lubelczyk! Mr. Lubelczyk has, and will always remain my most favorite teacher. I've never known another educator so dedicated to their subject matter and so successful at engaging students to learn and think critically. He made learning exciting, fun, and memorable. But most importantly, Wally cared. He cared deeply about all of us. I'll never forget when I sought him out at the end of senior year to tell him how much his class, his teaching, and him meant to me and he teared up as I told him. He cared that much.
I'll always remember Mr. Lubelczyk, the man who showed me that learning could be as fun as anything else if I make it that way. But more importantly I am sure to Wally, I'll always remember the lessons in law he taught me.
November 27, 2017
My deepest condolences to the Lubelczyk Family on the passing of a great teacher, mentor and overall special person. I had the great privilege of having Mr. L. as a teacher in American Law. He inspired so many of us to use our critical thinking skills and gain a deep appreciation and understanding for the laws of our country. He was a teacher who appreciated effort and let you know when he thought he could challenge you to go deeper. So much of what he taught, and how he taught, sticks with me even today. Your bright light will be missed.

He was the teacher who taught me to love history.I struggled in his class at first but then began to look forward to it every day.He was a positive force in my life that year and I will never forget him.

Wally was my teacher his very first year of teaching. I was 17 and he was 22. Ha! He challenged my intellect and piqued my interest inAmerican Law and Civics like no other. We used to debate Constitutional Law HEATEDLY! At one point, he inspired me by telling me that he would be my biggest fan when I got my 4.0 and showed it to him. So, I did. I got my 4.0 and marched myself into his classroom with transcript in hand. He was so happy FOR ME!!! Talk about a BORN teacher. This guy inspired me and all of us. We laughed about all of this as adults...his cousin, Peter, was tucked under my wing. We were a generation purposeful kids. The UP side of the 70's...RIP sweet guy.

Mr. Lubelczyk was my law professor at West High (Class of 2003). He was an incredible and very dedicated teacher. He made learning about such a complex subject as law, extremely approachable and fun. I remember the excitement among my classmates as we prepared for our trials in class and Law Day. His class contributed to my inspiration to attend law school. I even remembered most of what he taught me during my first year classes at the University of Miami School of Law. I felt fortunate to have a bit of an instinctive foundation on the many theories that are present in the law. We were all very luck to have such a wonderful teacher. I know he touched my life and the lives of many of his other students. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prays.

It's not often that I remember one person as such a positive and powerful force in my life. It's been more than 30 years, but his tone of voice, the endless cases between Abner and Bruce, his love of playing racquetball (with Mr. Vigneault, who was my Econ teacher at the time, so we heard about it ALOT), and winning our mock trial competition in Concord come back to me like they happened yesterday.
My favorite memory occurred during the Manchester Memorial Day parade in 1986. I had been chosen as NH's Junior Miss and was riding in the parade. I was polite, but bored, with waving and smiling until I saw Mr. Lubelczyk and his family yelling my name, jumping up and down, and waving their arms on the sidewalk on Elm Street as I went by. Instantly, a HUGE genuine smile lit up my face and I started waving like a maniac because I was so excited to see them.
That's what he did - he brought people to life.
Intellectually, athletically, whatever, he did it with all his heart.
I was beyond lucky to have known him and will never forget him. My deepest condolences to his family and I hope you take great comfort in reading just how much Wally touched so many.

My condolences to Mr. Lubelczyk's family. There are only so many people, I think, that truly influence your life and remain in your memory as the years roll by--Mr. Lubelczyk is one of those people for me. I never enjoyed a course as much as his law class at West, or his style and passion for the law and his students. He also had a kind word for folks, and seemed born to teach. RIP, Wally, I wish you knew how many lives you've touched in such a positive way.

November 23, 2017
Elementary or high school, college and even law school, Mr. Lubelczyk was the best teacher I've ever had. He was an innovator and an inspiration. By my senior year at West, students were knocking each other over, calling in favors, doing whatever they could to be enrolled in his class. The administration had to add a second teacher to offer the course he developed. More than teaching law, he taught his students confidence and the important skill and craft of public speaking, which most of us utterly dread. I'll never forget when I first got up in front of the class in September, I was an awkward, stumbling and bumbling mess. While public speaking still isn't my favorite, with commitment and hard work, by the time Law Day at St. A's rolled around in May, I acquitted myself well presenting a closing argument in front of a couple hundred of my peers. I wish I had told him how he had inspired me to pursue my career in law. He was a great teacher and a great man. Apart from the adventures of Abner and Bruce, if you saw Lubelczyk on the highway, you knew he was driving "65." Rest in Peace. West High Class of 2000.

A teacher has the opportunity to touch the lives of many. Mr. Lubelczyk was one of the most memorable and passionate teachers at West Highschool. I looked forward to his classes and missed them when I had to move on to the next year. I kept all of my notes from his class just because he made the law so interesting and relatable. He will be greatly missed.

SO sad to read this. I grew up across the street from Wally and his family as a young kid and his brother "Stevie" was my best friend back then. Wally was the older guy in the neighborhood that we all looked up to and seemed to be great at everything! His dad coached his brother and I in little league and he would come down and help us bench warmers to feel like ball players. My dad took him to his first Red Sox game as I was too young and Wally was the nicest guy around. The only thing he wanted during the whole game that he was loving, was that he be able to bring Ball Park Peanuts back to his parents. ( Maybe brothers too! ) I was lucky enough to go to the YMCA with the Lubelczyk brothers and Wally was a great guy to know being the role model that he was. He brought me to my first real mountain to ski to keep his brother company while he and Tommy would really go ski. It was fun eating frozen sandwiches in the back of his car for lunch between runs. I was especially proud when I too had him for my Law class. It was fun having him in his adult role there all the while giving me that Wally smile, chuckle and head shake and a secret wink from time to time. I am glad he went on to live the life he wanted with those he loved. He deserved to get more time, but they must need someone as special as him up in Heaven I guess. Thanks for who you are, and all that you meant to so many of us. My heart goes out to your family. We miss you already.

Well, I just received the call that rocks you back when you're away from home. The loss of someone who has meant so much to you and so many others. Wally was one of those vary rare teachers that made learning so much fun. He mentored so many without them realizing what magic he possessed. It must have been those bow ties and constant ear to ear smile. I was very fortunate to be able to keep a friendship going after high school. We spent my graduating summer at Camp Mi-TE-Na. He as a counselor, me the guy that feed them all. On days off we'd go to the mountains hiking and swimming. Found memories. Wally was all about family. Being lucky enough to meet his mother, father, Thomas and Stephen on many occasions showed me how a true family is meant to shine as one. Over the years as life pulls people apart in different directions, bumping into Wally, somewhere in town, would bring us back like it was yesterday. Wally, I'm the father and man I am today, because of !

Wally was the best. His class was my favorite class at West High School. Our law class that year (1987) won the NH Mock Trial competition and Wally and the class went to Washington DC for the National Competition. It was the trip of a lifetime and is the source of great memories.
The law course Wall taught inspired me to become a lawyer and I have been practicing law for more than 20 years now. I had some excellent professors at Boston College and Boston College Law School but Wally was the best of any of them. He made class fun and cared about his students. As I write this I can hear Wally's voice in my head laying out the facts of a case involving "Abner" and "Bruce" - the common characters in his fact patterns. Such good memories.
So sorry for your loss.

WALTER J LUBELCZYK JR. was one of my favorite teachers from Manchester West High School. I am grateful my graduating alumni officers, of Class of 1977, thought to invite teachers to our 40th Anniversary Reunion, in June, of 2017. It was great to see Wally one more time again. I had been looking forward to connecting with him again at more reunions. He was like our very own real life version of "Welcome Back Kotter," as he had graduated from West High in 1969. As a inspiring teacher, he was scarcely older than us, his students. He was one of us.

I had the distinct honor of working with Wally during my twenty years at Manchester High School WEST. I know that I speak for all who knew him that we have lost a "Cherished Friend."

My deepest condolences to Lynda, Kerry, Joe, their spouses, grandchildren and Walter's mother.
We're truly sad to hear of Wally's passing.
He was a wonderful man. Always went out of his way for everyone. He'll be missed dearly.
Blessed to have had him as our neighbor. Our oldest Jaden has taken the news very hard (hated to break it to him), Wally spent many times with him, lots of conversations and He loved playing basketball with him.
Wally was the first to welcome us to the neighborhood.
We'll cherish our fond memories of him. His kind heart and his warm smile will be missed. He was taken far to soon. Please let us know if anything is needed. We are just a few steps away. All Our Love, Shauna, Scott, Jaden & Jackson xoxo

Wally was truly an inspiring teacher. I loved his teaching methods and enthusiastic personality. My sister (also a student in the 80's) were recently recalling fond memories of him and our classroom experiences, including his deep voiced lawyer antics and charm. He inspired me to excel academically and I still to this day credit him for my expanded understanding of Latin through his case presentations. lol As Wally's time on Earth has passed may he find peace without pain or struggle on his continued Journey. I feel blessed to have known him as a teacher and all around good guy. My prayers include his family, friends and future generations who will be touched by him in Spirit.

So saddened to read this. I'm not sure any teacher had a greater impact on me than Lubelczyk and I'm disappointed in myself that I had fallen out of touch with Wally over the past few years. My West High 10 Year Reunion will be the same night as the funeral and I'm sure my law team Paradis & Associates, will be sharing remembrances.

Wally--it's been 44 years. You graduated, I had one to go. We never saw each other again. But, Dewey called and said you were gone. I remember you clearly. Nice guy. I worried you'd pass out when you went running (a new thing at the time) with a plastic sweatsuit (for real) on. It sounds as though you really made a difference in your life, and I'm sorry you're gone from us.

Mr. Lubelczyk was my favorite high school teacher. I LOVED his class. I still have all of my notes, including a box full of the flash cards we had to make for our case studies. His passion for teaching and his love for all of his students were evident. He will be missed. ❤ 06 grad

I am so deeply saddened to read this.........the only teacher that I actually enjoyed learning history and government from..........and during my senior year in 1974, I was even more surprised that it turned out his mother was in my mother's wedding party........He was only 5 yrs older than us and I believe that is what made him an outstanding teacher............we could relate to him very easily and he was always so upbeat and positive.........Manchester West has lost one of its best..........I believe I speak for all of his students when I say that he absolutely made a huge impact on my senior year and I appreciated him more than words can ever say.........Mr. Lubelczyk, God has taken you way too soon.........another angel must have been needed greatly .....or teacher........prayers to the Lubelczyk family and friends.......he was one of a kind......my deepest condolences.......Sandra Ann Berdechowski-Glogowski, West grad, 1974.
