WARNER - John Porter "Filly" Fillebrown, 62, of Waldron Hill Road, formerly of North Reading, Wakefield and Ayer, Mass., died Jan. 7, 2011, at Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston.

He was born in Ayer, Dec. 28, 1948, to Lester and Leah Fillebrown and has resided in Warner for 20 years. He grew up in Ayer and was a 1966 graduate of Ayer High School.

Following his graduation from high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

For the past 11 years he worked for the New Hampshire Department of Safety as the 911 supervisor.

He had served as a volunteer firefighter in the North Reading Fire Department. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed biking, skiing, hiking, fishing and traveling to The Woods in West Virginia.

IN HIS LIFE: John leaves his fiancée, Linda Hoffman of Warner; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and John Visocchi of North Reading; his son, Thomas Fillebrown of Bradford; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Paul and Carol Fillebrown and Nancy Fillebrown, all of Ayer, and a granddaughter, Aspen Fillebrown. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of David Fillebrown, who died last May.

John's family would like to thank the amazing nursing staff and doctors of the Cardiac ICU at Tufts Medical Center who were so caring and thorough during John's hospitalization.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Route 2A) Ayer, Mass. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ayer. Calling hours are at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Visit for additional information.

I loved working when John was supervising at NH 911. His sense of humor always had you guessing! We will miss you Filly...
