SPRINGFIELD - Dallas R. Patten, 84, of Main Street, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in New London, NH on October 23, 1933, the son of Dallas H. and Hazel M. (Little) Patten.

He was an honorary life member of the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department and had served as the Deputy Forest Fire Warden. Dallas was part of the crew that fought the big fire in Croydon years ago. Active in the town, he served on many boards and committees.

He is predeceased by his parents and an infant son, Timothy R. Patten, and his son-in-law, Gilbert Wesley Roberts.
