BEDFORD - Gerald R. "Jerry" Margerum passed away on Dec. 16, 2012, in Bedford following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1932, in Santa Ana, Calif. He was the son of George R. and Beulah (Jenner) Margerum.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed playing cards, sports and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and the USC Trojans.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane (Bakovic) Margerum of New Boston; daughter Victoria Kennedy and her husband Robert, of Amherst; granddaughters Stephanie McKenna of Springfield, Mass., and Colby Kennedy of Athens, Ga.; grandsons Brendan Mc-Kenna and Shaun McKenna of Amherst; grandson Ryan McKenna and his wife Emily, and great-grandson, Caleb McKenna of Concord; sisters Loretta Roah of Tustin, Calif., Barbara Wilvers of Long Beach, Calif., and Joy Kirkland of Seal Beach, Calif.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Newland.

Jerry will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
