PEMBROKE - James C. Johnson Sr., 90, of Pembroke died Jan. 1, 2013, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Wilmington, Del., on May 8, 1922, the son of Vaughn and Nalletta (Chambers) Johnson. He was educated in the Delaware school system.

He served in the U.S. Marines during both World War II and the Korean War.

Prior to retirement, he had been a draft room supervisor in the electronics industry for many years.

He was a longtime member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge in Concord.

Jim enjoyed woodworking and caring for animals. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving husband and father who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, M. Theresa (Gallant) Johnson of Pembroke; three sons, Brian K. Johnson and wife Michelle of Suncook, James C. Johnson Jr. and wife Kathleen of Hudson and Bruce J. Johnson and wife Joyce of Sandown; seven grandchildren; seven great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; nephews, nieces, and cousins.


services: Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, corner of North Street, will be Saturday, Jan. 5, from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
