CANDIA - Richard A. DeBlois, 70, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, from injuries sustained in a tree cutting accident while working in Bedford with his assistant, Casey Keefe.

Mr. DeBlois was born on Feb. 3, 1943, in Manchester, he son of the late Wilfred A. and Anna M. (Mekulsia) DeBlois. He resided in Candia for most of his life.

Mr. DeBlois was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

He was a self-employed tree cutter for many years.

Members of his family include his son, James DeBlois, of Candia; a granddaughter, Kylie Jean DeBlois; two sisters, Jane Fagnant, of Manchester; Doris Rand and her husband, Richard, of Derry; a brother, Robert DeBlois and his wife Linda, of Willow Park, Texas; brother-in-law, Kenneth Elliott, of Weatherford, Texas; goddaughters, Debra Strassner and Morgan Bingson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; nephews Michael Rand, Daniel Rand and his wife, Joyce, Robert DeBlois and his wife, Anna, David Deblois and his wife, Kim, Ken Elliott and his wife, Judy; and his nieces, Corie Rand and Theresa White. Mr. DeBlois was predeceased by his wife, Pauline R. DeBlois who died on Dec. 28, 2011, and by his sister, Nancy Elliott.


SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Services will be private and held at a later date. Interment will take place at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen.
