MANCHESTER - Russell L. Fontaine, 74, died on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Community Hospice House, in Merrimack.

Mr. Fontaine was born on June 3, 1939, in Concord, the son of the late Leopold and Fernande (Payeur) Fontaine.

Mr. Fontaine was employed at the Mayflower Restaurant. Most recently he was employed for 21 years at C.A Hoitt Furniture Co.

He was a member of the Jutras Post, VFW, Rimmon Club and the Alpine Club. Mr. Fontaine enjoyed doing latchhook rugs and selling poppies to raise money for veterans, for which he received many awards for his high sales.

Members of his family include his guardian, Connie Lafond, of Manchester; her husband Lou, her son, Mark, and his wife, Christine, and daughter, Sharon Ferguson, and Connie's two granddaughters, Courtney Ferguson, Alexandra Ferguson, and Millie, the LNA that took very good care of him.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne- St. Augustin Church, 383 Beech St. in Manchester. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Augustin Cemetery in Manchester.
