MANCHESTER - Sidney "Jimmy" Clifford Slark, 93, died Friday, August 31, 2018 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH after a brief illness. He was born on January 27, 1925 in London, England, the son of William and Caroline (Smith).

He was the husband of Katherine "Kitty" (Kisielius). They were married on January 11, 1947 at Camp Churchill in Celle, Germany after the war.

Jimmy was a proud member of the Black Watch regiment during the Second World War and had a life-long obsession with military history and music - especially bagpipes. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and lived the rest of his life in Manchester. Hardworking and fun-loving, he was known for his kind, gentle demeanor and positive outlook on life. He loved going dancing with his wife, traveling, meeting new people, and spending time with family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He was predeceased by his six brothers and two sisters.

Survived by his spouse, Kitty; his children - Maria Ashton, Sidney Slark and his wife Susan, Virginia Larkin and her spouse David; his grandchildren - Brittany Larkin and her spouse Seth Davenport, Christopher Slark, Cullen Larkin, and Jeffrey Slark; and many nieces and nephews living around the world.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a celebration of life service to follow at noon, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 448 Donald Street, Bedford, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
