CONCORD -- Retired Superior Court Judge Vincent P. Dunn, 88, a longtime resident of Concord, died at home on Aug. 11, 2010.
Born June 18, 1922, in South Boston, Mass., he was one of 12 children of Mary (Devin) and John F. Dunn.
Educated at the University of New Hampshire and Boston University School of Law, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed aboard a destroyer in the Pacific during World War II. Delaying an active practice of law until 1968, he worked for a number of years in the financial services sector associated with Lehman Brothers and Kidder Peabody in both New York and Boston, eventually moving to Windham, to assist in the development of the trust department at the Arlington Trust Company. In 1964 New Hampshire Gov. John King appointed him to serve as New Hampshire Bank Commissioner, a position he occupied for several years before resigning to run for governor in 1968. Until his appointment to the New Hampshire Superior Court bench in 1981, he was engaged in the general practice of law in Concord.
IN HIS LIFE: Remembered as a good judge and a warm and loving father and grandfather, Vincent's quick wit and boundless charm were defining traits. His recall of great literature, theatre and music distinguished him professionally and personally. He travelled extensively with family, including solo trips abroad with his grandchildren. With his tall stature and larger-than-life personality, he made a lasting impression upon everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Paula (Taft) Rogers of Concord; two sons, Mark D. Dunn of Concord and Vincent P. Dunn Jr. of Cohasset, Mass.; three grandchildren, Patrick, Kathryn and Eleanor Dunn, all of Cohasset; one sister, Margaret A. Dunn of Cohasset; and Miriam (Dearborn) Dunn of Concord. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan F. Dunn .
SERVICES: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 South Main St., Concord. Donations may be made in his memory to the CRVNA Hospice Program, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord 03301 or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

Dear Vincent,
It seem the time has come that we shall rise and you shall not. So for a life well lived, we raise to you the parting glass with love, appreciation, gratitude and just the slightest hint of friendly exasperation. Goodnight and Joy be with you.

...so many roads traveled; so many laughs still echoing; so much good done and such a legacy of caring for those less fortunate... Thank you and all your family.
All the Dunfeys send their love. You must already be reminiscing with a few of them!
Peace.
