GOFFSTOWN - Janice Nawoj, 61, died suddenly following a brief illness on Feb. 26, 2014, while on vacation in Freeport, Maine.

She was born and resided in the Goffstown area all of her life. She was the daughter of Virginia Brison and the late Charles Brison.

After graduating from Goffstown High School in 1971, she attended the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Manchester. She started her 35-year nursing career at Catholic Medical Center as a recovery room nurse, and then advanced to become the clinical leader of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. She also served with the Goffstown Police Department for many years.

She was a PWA of Goffstown Assembly #22 of Rainbow for Girls, was a member of Martha Washington Chapter of the Eastern Star, served the Goffstown Congregational Church as the youth leader for many years, and did extensive youth mission work with the UCC. In the summer, she served as camp nurse at the Horton Center in Gorham. Her love of youth ministries called her to Andover Newton Theological School, where she studied briefly.

She enjoyed spending time in the White Mountains and on the coast of Maine.

She is survived by her three children, Jenn Nawoj of Goffstown; Chuck Nawoj of Goffstown; Martin Nawoj and his two children, Ben and Maddie Nawoj of Goffstown; sister Sandi Decknick of Goffstown, and her three children, Joshua, Phil, and Taylor; brother Tom Brison and his wife, Marilyn of Hooksett, and their two children, Heather and Chris. She also leaves behind her best friend, Joann Beaudoin.
