MERRIMACK - Charles L. White Sr. peacefully passed away in March 11, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.He was born on Feb. 2, 1934, in Merrimack, to the late William and Elsie (Austin) White.Charles was raised and educated in Manchester. He proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps to honorably serve his country in the Korean War. When he returned, Charles worked as a construction contractor in his own business, C.L.White Construction. After retiring he enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. He was a good husband and father; his family was paramount to him.Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, MaryLou (Dachowski) White of Hooksett, sons Charles L. White Jr. (wife Cynthia) of New Jersey, William J. White (wife Anne) of New Hampshire, and Richard J. (wife Lea) of Nevada, daughters Kathryn M. Costa (husband Dan) of Illinois, Patricia A. Foristall of Massachusetts, and Sandra L. Hucks (husband Edmund) of New Hampshire, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephew.Aside from his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brothers, William White, James White, and his sisters Rita Nordle, and Jean Carr.


SERVICES: A visitation will be on Friday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St. in Manchester with a funeral service starting at the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, March 17, at 9 a.m. with military honors.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be lovingly made in Charles name to Niemann-Pick Foundation For more information or to view an online tribute, go to
