Newton - Walter "Wally" Lester Perkins, 52, died on June 22, 2014, at the Oxford Manor in Haverhill, Mass.He was born on May 26, 1962, in Haverhill, Mass., son of Joanne (Jody) (Rundlett) Perkins and the late Walter Palmer Perkins Jr.Walter grew up in Newton, where he attended grammar school and was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston. Walter worked locally at various lumber yards. He was also employed at RiverWoods at Exeter and ended his career as a delivery man for Andyman Bakery in Amesbury, Mass.Walter lived most of his life in Newton and was a person who truly loved people. If he met you, he remembered you for life and probably knew what kind of car you drove. From a young age, Walter loved Matchbox cars and was always a car enthusiast. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.He was predeceased by his father, who died in 2007, and his sister, Bonnie Jean Perkins.He is survived by his mother, Joanne (Rundlett) Perkins of Kingston; two sisters, Julie Perkins Robie and husband Jeffrey of Kingston, and Susan Twoponi of Raymond; several nieces and nephews, including Tory Sullivan, Janel Sullivan, Jessie Robie, and Joshua and his wife, Heather, Robie; and one great-niece, Penelope.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Kingston Fire Department for everything it did for Walter throughout the years..

SERVICES: Private burial services will be held for the family in the Maple Lane Cemetery in Stratham.Friends and family are invited to a memory sharing gathering to be held in the Rent Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church of Kingston, located on 6 Church St., Kingston, on Saturday, June 28, at noon. Casual dress is welcomed.Because of Walter's love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully received by an animal shelter of your choice.Brewitt Funeral Service, 14 Pine St., Exeter, is assisting the family with arrangements.
