APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - Robert M. Merrill III formerly of Warner, N.H., died Monday, July 7, 2014, in Mesa.Robert was born in Concord, N.H., the son of Lois (Copp) and William Dearborn and the late Robert M. Merrill Jr.He attended school in Dunbarton and graduated from Concord High School in 1960.He had served in the Army National Guard and worked for many years as maintenance supervisor at Pitco Frialator. During this time he obtained his master electrician and plumbing licenses. He then worked for Precision Finishing and the state of New Hampshire before moving West. After moving to Arizona he worked for Camping World and the Resort in Mesa.After retiring, he enjoyed visiting with his neighbors, in "Bob's Office," (No politics or religion), just good old fashioned "visiting."Robert was a member of the NRA, the Pioneer Sportsman Club, American Legion and was a 4H leader. He was a man of many interests: scuba diver, firefighter, space enthusiast, Harley-Davidson Motorcycle rider and enjoyed his RV vacationing and travel.Survivors include his wife of 50 years Beverly J. (Coursey) Merrill now of Rumney, N.H.; a daughter Corenna M. Chagnon and her husband, Steven, also of Rumney, N.H.; a son Robert M. Merrill IV and his wife, Cindy, of Warner, N.H.; daughter, Leena Puijola, of Vantaa, Finland; sisters Pam Merrill Wheeler of Concord, N.H., and Susan Dearborn of Henniker, N.H.; brothers Richard Dearborn of N. Berwick, Maine; and William Dearborn of Epsom, N.H.; grandchildren Steve Chagnon, Alyssa and Robert M. Merrill V. Several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother Lois C.( Merrill) and William Dearborn and Robert M. Merrill Jr., and a brother Douglas Merrill.


SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at the Bennett Funeral Home 209 N. Main St. in Concord, N.H., on Wednesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. in the West Congregational Church 499 N. State Street Concord, N.H.
