Gwendolyn Cassidy Obituary

MERRIMACK - Gwendolyn Clare Cassidy, 23, of Merrimack died unexpectedly on Jan. 1, 2012, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.

A vibrant young woman, full of promise, she was the victim of an undetected and sudden medical condition.

Gwendolyn was born April 25, 1988, the daughter of Thomas and Patricia A. (McNamara) Cassidy.

Gwendolyn graduated cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 2010. Ever involved, Gwendolyn always had a penchant for helping others. She sincerely appreciated the people around her and embraced all aspects of civil service throughout her brief career. Most recently, Gwendolyn held the position of caseworker in U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte's Nashua office.

Gwendolyn made friends with tremendous ease and her passions included such things as horseback riding and travel. Her genuine warmth and joie de vivre will be greatly missed but never forgotten. It has been said: "What is lovely never dies, but passes into other loveliness." May Gwendolyn know just how lovely it has been sharing her life's journey.

In addition to her loving parents, Thomas and Patricia of Clovis, Calif., she is survived by her sister Olivia R. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Gwendolyn leaves further her maternal aunt Nancy (Mrs. David) Frank and her maternal uncle Kevin McNamara of Ohio. Her paternal aunt Dorothy (Mrs. Henry) Melaragno, paternal uncles Daniel Cassidy, James and his wife Lynn Cassidy and Patrick Cassidy, all of Colorado. Gwendolyn's cousins and extended family will remember her fondly. Also her devoted boyfriend long-standing, H. Benjamin Stebbins of Merrimack, and his family, most especially his parents, Henry and Alison Stebbins of Portsmouth, who will always love Gwendolyn. Rajah, Taj and Lily Gwendolyn's cats and her rescue dog, Denali, miss her already.

.

Dearest Patty,
I was going through old cards, and had just been looking through the pictures of your daughters...Remembering when we got married around the same time and when we had our daughters near the same time...Tried to look you up, and found the sorrowful news of your precious daughter...Please,accept my sympathy.Your daughter, was truly a beautiful and gifted person. The earth was richer for having her in it; God bless you and yours, and may you find peace and comfort.

I did not have the privilege of knowing Gwendolyn, but my heart aches for her family and friends who feel this loss so deeply. There are no words that can be said to ease your pain, but perhaps just knowing that Gwen has touched so many around her, even those who did not know her personally, will give a bit of comfort to you. Bless you all.
