William Wright DuBiel 1935 - 2018
MELBOURNE, FL - William Wright DuBiel passed away on August 29, 2018, in Melbourne, FL, after a very brief illness.
Bill was the only child born to Edward and Ruth Wright DuBiel on June 10, 1935, in Rochester, NY. He was raised and educated through high school in Rochester.
His lifelong love of animals led him to Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he obtained his doctorate of veterinary medicine in August of 1961. He practiced large and small animal medicine in VT and NY and eventually and finally in Barneveld, NY, where he practiced for over 40 years. He retired in 2013.
Bill married Constance Wingate in 1958. The couple had three children, Mark, Debra and Kimberly. Constance predeceased him. He married Judy Patterson in 1995.
Surviving besides his wife, Judy, are son, Mark and Nicole DuBiel, of Melbourne, FL, Debra Daiker, of Old Forge, NY, and Kimberly and Claude Curley, of Henderson Harbor, NY. He had four grandchildren, Devin and Dane Daiker, and Sydney and Emily Curley, and great-granddaughter, Elora Bell.
Bill was an optimistic, inquisitive, happy man who loved life. He had many and varied interests, and top among them were flying, scuba diving and golfing. Besides his love of animals, he loved nature in all forms and spent countless hours of his life grooming his yard. He had a deep passion for his home on the West Canada Creek and cherished the days when his toes were in the sand in the Cayman Islands. He was liked by all and loved by many, and once he made a friend it was forever. His spirit, personality and kindly nature will be so greatly missed.
At Bill's request, there are no calling hours or services.
