I worked with Major Genakos in Williamsburg in the 1970's. He was a fine man who was an inspiration. His passing saddens me. Rest in peace.

George was a great friend to me. He hired me in 1980 to work at the EconoLodge and the old Continental that was taken over by the Minuet Manor. I learned a lot from him and considered being in hotel management because of him. He was a wonderful boss and good friend . I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of serving on city council with George. George was a mentor for me ... always available to offer keen insight and sage guidance. He knew the city and cared deeply for its residents, particularly children and the less fortunate. He’s left this world for a better place but will be remembered as a gentleman and community builder who loved his country and the Lord. Rest In Peace, Sir.

So many fond memories of one of my favorite instructors. George could light up the room with his vibrant presence. It’s been many years, but he will always be a part of a very important time in my life. Rest In Peace, and condolences to the family.
