Patricia Montenyohl Bostian, born on Oct. 3, 1924 in Akron, Ohio, died peacefully on April 27, 2018 at her apartment at Brookdale in Ogden. Patricia led a full and active life, attending many different schools in Ohio, and she participated in such activities as horseback riding, ballet, tap dancing, ballroom dancing, piano, violin and harp. She adored tap dancing and even learned routine from movies. Patricia also spent time in Mexico City, where her father, Victor Montenyohl, was Treasurer and VP of International operations for Goodrich. Patricia made many friends in Mexico and enjoyed a variety of adventures, including climbing Mt. Popocatepeti. Patricia earned a BA from Swarthmore in Spanish, and her passion for reading led to a job as a scientific librarian at the Forrestal Research Center. Patricia married Logan C. Bostian on Sept. 6, 1952. They both enjoyed traveling and were fortunate to visit countries in every continent except Antartica. Patricia dedicated much of her time to serving others through organizations like the Junior League, Meals on Wheels, The Christopher Wren Society, the Bruton Parish Gift shop and more. Some activities she did including typing braille, teaching English, testing hearing, repairing hymnals and prayer books, and preparing choir dinners. Even as she aged and was forced to cut back on volunteering, Patricia kept busy baking her famous "mouse ears" for others. In addition to reading and travelling, Patricia loved to garden, and she was fascinated with animals. No matter where she lived, she created a bird-friendly environment, even welcoming ducks, geese and great blue herons. A memorial service was held at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Ogden on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2 pm. Another memorial service will take place at Bruton Parish church in Williamsburg, VA on Friday, Aug. 3 at 1:30 pm.
