HARLINGEN, TX - Mario M. Rangel, Jr., 35, Linda Rankin Rangel, 41, Jacob Daniel Rangel, 8, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 31, 2005 in Gallup, New Mexico. Mario was born on October 6, 1969 in San Benito, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. At the time of his death, he was employed by the United Postal Service in McAllen, Texas.
Mario and Linda are survived by their son, Joshua Ray Rangel, of Harlingen, Texas. Other survivors include loving parents, Mario M. and Arminda Balli Rangel of San Benito, Texas; brothers, Hector Rangel (Regina) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rene Rangel (Mayra) of Edinburg, TX; sisters, Laura Gomez (Jesse) of Harlingen, TX, Veronica Vinyard (Jeff) of Conroe, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Ann; son, Jacob Daniel; and grandparents, Marcos and Ester V. Rangel; and maternal grandparents, Emilio Balli, Sr. and Refugia Balli.
Mario will be always remembered for being an extremely giving person and a wonderful role model to everyone he knew.
Linda Rankin Rangel was born on December 6, 1963 in New Haven, Connecticut. She was employed by Alamo Bank of Texas in Harlingen, Texas.
Other survivors include her mother, Linda Rankin of Harlingen, TX; father, Claude Rankin of Florida; brother, David Rankin (Teresa) of Nevada; an aunt, Janice Tripp (Kenneth); and an uncle, Paul Iversen (Judy).
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mario; son, Jacob Daniel; paternal grandparents, Russell and Arvilla Rankin; and maternal grandparents, Paul and Myrtle Iversen.
Linda will always be remembered for her great cooking, personality and beautiful big blue eyes.
Jacob Daniel Rangel
was born on March 19, 1997 in Harlingen, Texas. He attended Dishman and Wilson Elementary Schools in Harlingen.
He is survived by his brother, Joshua Ray Rangel; maternal grandmother, Linda Rankin; maternal grandfather, Claude Rankin; paternal grandparents, Mario and Arminda Balli Rangel; uncles, David Rankin (Teresa), Hector Rangel (Regina) and Rene Rangel (Mayra); aunts, Laura Gomez (Jesse) Veronica Vinyard (Jeff); cousins, Alyssa, Jesse James, Mason, Victoria, Matthew, Tanner, Joshua, Cameron, and Roxanne.
Jacob loved the beach and enjoyed wrestling with his brother, Joshua. He will forever be remembered for his goodbye hugs and kisses.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2005 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. at the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel A.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the San Benito Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
