HARLINGEN, TX. -- Rafaela Martinez Martinez 80, of Harlingen joined her husband Domingo and daughter Lovelia with The Lord in heaven.
She was born to the late Roberto Martinez and Martina Villarreal Martinez on September 16, 1934.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Edelmira Villarreal and Minerva Elmira Craig.
She is survived by her two sons, Luis Martinez Martinez and his wife Nancy and their two sons Estevan Luis Martinez and Nicolas Patricio Martinez of Coppell, Tx and Lorenzi Martinez Martinez of Rio Hondo, Tx. Rafaela is also survived by her siblings, Arnaldo Martinez of McAllen, Jose (Lupe) Martinez of Alamo, Celso Martinez of Corpus Christi, Tx, Roberto Martinez of Harlingen, Lorensi Martinez of Corpus Christi, Ramiro Martinez of Rivera and a sister Carmen Sierra of Mercedes, Tx.
As a child Rafaela spent a considerable amount of time with her beloved aunts, Tia Elvira and Tia Consuelo (Chelo) who together with her parents helped raise her.
Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) departing the Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 1:30 pm for a 2:00 pm funeral service at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church and interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lyford.

My deepest condolences to her family . They were our neighbors in Harlingen { Johnson street ] and compadres with my parents > They were very good decent people , nice family excellent neighbors . May she rest in Peace .

My condolence to the Martinez Family. Domingo and Fela were my Parents Agustin & Lupe Martinez's very good Nieghbors and compadres , they lived on Johnson Street. I also remember Luis (then called Luisito) and his Sister Lovelia Playing in their yard and Mrs.Fela kept a very good vigil on them My she rest in Peace and again my condolence to the Martinex Family.
