Orlando Montoya Obituary

Mercedes - Orlando Odell Montoya (Lonnie) born February 1, 1968 in Weslaco, Texas was a life-long resident of Mercedes, Texas. He passed on August 28, 2016. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Claudia Castillo Montoya and his five children twins Denise Renee and Danielle Nicole, Lydia Marie, Herminia (Minnie) Lisa, and Orlando Odell Jr. He is also survived by his parents Pablo and Lydia Montoya, and his brother Oscar David Montoya, brothers - in -law Pedro (Peter) Jr., Rick, and Ceasar Castillo. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Lonnie Montoya worked at Hidalgo County Pct. 1 for two years and was previously employed by Snap-on.

Lonnie was a loving-dedicated husband, father, and son. You could always rely on Lonnie's happy attitude, generosity, and good humor. He loved family and friends. Lonnie was always eager to learn and share his own experiences with everyone. He was always positive no matter the challenges he faced. Always trying to set the best example for others. He lived for Christ, his wife, and children. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 2 pm to 9 pm. Church service will be on September 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at Church of the Living Word, 4015 Camino De Verdad, Weslaco, TX. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in La Feria, Texas under the direction of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes, TX.

The kids and I, while living on Missouri street in Mercedes , got to know the shy but funny "young" Lonnie. Being our neighbor, he always had time to play. He will always stay in our memory. We will continue to pray for him and his family..Liz Fernandez
