DUNCAN, Pipe Major Albert John, CD
March 10, 1930 - March 30, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Pipe Major Albert John Duncan, CD. Albert passed away peacefully after a day with his daughters. Albert was predeceased by his parents, John and Louise Duncan, sister, Frances Miller and the woman he loved, Mary Ann Clapp. He is survived by his 5 children, Donna, Sandy, Laurie, Gordon and Tammy, his sister and brother-in-law, Noreen and Peter Dick, as well as 12 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends. Albert enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was a professional piper having won the coveted MacCrimmon Memorial Cairn and was an instructor, judge and mentor to many up and coming young (and old) pipers. He loved golfing, camping and was an avid sports fan. Dad would never miss "the game". Celebration of Life for Albert will take place on April 16, 2016 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #83, 5289 Grimmer Street, Burnaby, B.C. Bring your pipes/drums as a massed bands will conclude the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

My condolences to family and friends.

Notwithstanding geography and time, I have many fond memories of Albert from years past in BC piping circles. A wonderful man and legacy and only wish I could be there to join in the celebration of his life. Sincerely, Robert Heggie, Staff Sgt & Founder Palm Springs Pipe Band
