Allan Hestrin

HESTRIN, AllanAfter a long life well-lived, Allan Hestrin died peacefully, on February 22, 2010. Born in Winnipeg, Man., on September 10, 1914, he and his late wife Edith had made Vancouver their home since 1946. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed sport-fishing, stone-carving, and during his younger years, cross-country skiing and hiking. He is survived by son, Dr. Morris Hestrin (Barbara), daughter Dianne Goldberg (Michael); grandchildren Dr. Leah Montgomery (Jeff Hardy), Jacqueline Copland (Jason), Joshua Goldberg (Reese Willis), and Avi Goldberg; great-grandchild, Stewart Copland; sister, Clara Fox, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a future date. Thank you to the staff of Arbutus Care Home for the compassionate care they provided during the past several months.
