Jude and I worked together on several projects and committees. Jude's positive and inclusive attitude gently brought others into his optimism. He invariably pointed out strengths in people and situations. Jude was keen to help out wherever and whenever he could. Jude was committed to eradicating stigma surrounding mental illness, in part by sharing his own life experiences in an open and heartfelt reflection. In the week before Jude died I received an email from him which exuded his enthusiasm about his participation in planning an upcoming mental health conference. We can all learn from Jude's benevolent and warmhearted nature - he was truly a good man. Rest in peace, Jude. You are sadly missed.

Jude was a man of man of quiet dignity. That is to say wherever he was, and in whatever he was doing dignity was afforded more space to be. The real gift was that this space was most often in hearts of others with differing beliefs.

I remember Jude for all his morale support in hard times. He always had a wise comment because you knew he had already thought the subject through. I hope he is in a better place.

I did not know Jude, but his obituary moved me, and I was glad to make a donation to the First United Church in the DES.
I think he must have been a very courageous man.

I feel privileged to have known Jude Swanson word cannot explain the magnificient person that he is. I said he is because positive energy is still with us. I know that for the people of the Jim Green Residence, his passing has left an irreplaceable void. He was an advocate, a mediator, put most of all a true and non-judmentalfriend. My condolences to the family and to all who new Jude as a friend and in the professional community.
